Recruitment

The Centre received over 400 Expressions of Interest in its Honours, PhD, Postdoctoral, and Technical/Research positions for commencement in 2010. The Centre's Research Management Committee is deeply appreciative of the interest shown in the Centre by high quality applicants from all over the world. We are no longer recruiting for 2010, but any Expressions of Interest now received will be kept on file in the event that we have vacancies before our next major recruitment round in 2010.

PhD Expressions of Interest

All of those who lodged an Expression of Interest in undertaking a PhD in one of the Centre's Research Programs at a partner university should have received acknowledgement from the Centre. Those who are under consideration for an NCGRT Scholarship or top up will be in ongoing contact with the relevant Program Leader. A number of applicants have been selected to work with the Centre, commencing early in 2010. We have also set up a reserve list for possible commencement in mid 2010. There was very strong competition for these places, and we regret that there are many PhD applicants whom we will be unable to place.

Honours and Postdoctoral Expressions of Interest 

We hope to finalise advice to those who lodged Expressions of Interest in these categories as follows: Postdoctoral Fellows should be in contact with Program Leaders; Honours by late January 2010, subject to the availability of 2009 results and university offers of Honours places.

Technical and Research Positions

Program 3, led by Professor Peter Cook has two Technical Officer positions available at Flinders University, closing on 22 January 2010. Both positions involve laboratory and field work, including the installation and maintenance of field infrastructure at Willunga Basin (SA) and Ti Tree Basin (NT). Full information on both positions - at HEO5 and HEO6 - is available on the Flinders University employment website. The level of appointment will depend on skills and experience.

Two Research Fellow positions (Res B, and ResC/D), also in Program 3 and located at Flinders University, will be advertised in January 2010.
