The National Centre for Groundwater Research and Training opens with:

$55M in cash funding to recruit personnel and build lasting research infrastructure
a collaboration between twelve universities and eight industry and government organisations
thirty four of the top groundwater researchers in the nation collaborating on its research programs
research programs in South Australia, New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia, and the Australian Capital Territory
distinguished national and international scientists and research leaders providing guidance to the Centre through its advisory committees .

Postdoctoral Fellow positions in Hydrology at Flinders University

Three 3 year positions are available in Program 2, and Two 3 year positions are available in Program 3.

Postdoctoral Position available at UNSW

This position will join the National Centre for Groundwater Research and Training team as part of the Connected Waters Initiative working at the Water Research Laboratory in Manly Vale.

The Research Fellow will carry out the study of connected surface and groundwater systems using a variety of chemical and geophysical techniques.

This is a full time, fixed term position with the possibility of renewal dependant on satisfactory performance and available funding.

Postdoctoral Postion available at Monash

A 3 year Postdoctoral Fellowship in the School of Geosciences, Monash University is available immediately as part of the NCGRT. The research involves the study of groundwater-surface water interaction and environmental issues in a coastal environment at a range of temporal and spatial scales using a variety of geochemical and isotopic tracers coupled with physical hydrogeology. Groundwater short courses

The National Centre for Groundwater Research and Training is proud to now be the home of Australia's preferred groundwater professional development program, run with outstanding success for twenty years by the Centre for Groundwater Studies.

Course program and registration information

The 2010 course program is now available, offering 17 courses throughout the year, from March to November. These respond to a range of knowledge needs, from a basic understanding of groundwater and groundwater processes, to specialist technical and scientific issues, to groundwater for policy and decision makers, to an intensive five day groundwater overview (the Australian Groundwater School).
